Pretty good condition, I have had this sitting on bookshelf in my office for years. The condition looks to match the age, feels like a terracotta clay thrown piece and handle is great shape. “N 1921o– Real Copy – Nat. Authentic Hand-Painted Museum Copy Small exceptional hand-painted Greek red-figure style vase, crafted in Greece during the 1920s as an official museum reproduction of a 400 BC Athenian red-figure oinochoe (wine jug) from the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. The underside bears a period inscription reading: “N 1921o– Real Copy – Nat. Museum of Athens – 400 BC – Hand-painted in Greece.” ***3.67 inches tall and about 3 1/2 inches wide*** weighs approximately 6 ounces Pretty good condition, I have had this sitting on bookshelf in my office for years. I got this from a well travel collector of just unusual items and antiques in South Richmond. She had an old Victorian house in a questionable part of the city just full of things. Caught my eye, read the bottom inscription which I take to mean museum copy from Athens National Museum and the year 1921. I don’t understand the N before it or what appears to be o and maybe an apostrophe above the 1. The condition looks to match the age, feels like a terracotta clay thrown piece and handle is great shape. Some minor paint wear but no chips, cracks,etc. Please refer to all pictures.
