This vintage Barbie bride's dream set #947 manufactured by Mattel in 1963, includes all the pieces needed for this special doll to have her dream wedding day. The stunning white satin, short sleeved wedding dress, featured a full overskirt with tiered ruffle front panel in soft chiffon. A tiny bow at the waist was a delicate accent. Some of the accessories were the same as those included with Wedding Day #972. They were tulle veil with “pearl” head piece, open toe white pumps (left marked Japan), blue garter, fabric flower lace base bouquet, graduated “pearl” necklace and white long gloves make up the complete set that captures the theme of a wedding. Perfect for collectors or Barbie enthusiasts, this set is a timeless piece that showcases the iconic character of Barbie in a classic and elegant bride wedding dress. Made in Japan, this original set is a must-have for any doll lover looking to add a piece of Barbie history to their collection. I am the only owner, so i know it has been away from the light, in a pet and smoke free environment and in a climate controlled temperature. This outfit has never been played with, so it’s in like new condition; the veil is mint, no holes, rips or stains, the dress is very white, because it has been wrapped in oil free tissue paper all these years, gloves are very white as well, the garter is not stretched out and the bouquet is excellent after all these years (62 to be exact). The graduated “pearl” necklace has lost its luster, but it’s in good condition; also the “pearls” in the veil lost it too, but that is normal when they age, since they are not real. The last picture is how Barbie appears in this outfit in the Barbie Fashion Volume I by Sarah Sink Eames in all her splendor; the picture before last is the way this outfit was sold when it was released in 1963. Picture #1 is the way you will get it, with a plastic cover to last another 62 years. I am also including the booklet of the era, with her dress inside as shown in my pics. Mannequin not included, just to show the dress. Thanks for watching and please keep doing so, because i am downsizing and everything must go, so everyday i try to post some more of my treasures. This outfit will go to the new owner, fast, insured, well wrapped in between some cardboards to avoid damage, and inside a bubble envelope. I do send the tracking # as soon as i get it.
