As can be seen in the photos this frog is marked on the back side of the casting with the number 5-1/2 and with the B casting mark. #5-1/2 Stanley planes with the narrower bed. You're buying the Stanley plane frog shown in the photos. You're buying the Stanley plane frog shown in the photos. This frog measure slightly under  2-1/4" in width, and fits the earlier  #5-1/2 Stanley planes with the narrower bed. As can be seen in the photos this frog is marked on the back side of the casting with the number 5-1/2 and with the B casting mark, which likely indicates a type 8 frog. The frog has a 1" brass depth adjusting wheel.  This frog is in good condition  though is absent a good bit of its original black coloring. The lateral adjuster has two visible patent dates of 84 and 88, faint but discernible. *****Look carefully at the frog configuration to make sure it is the type  frog you are looking for. The frog has been completely gone over, cleaned and lightly oiled. The brass adjusting wheel, and lever cap retaining screw may be removed and placed in the box for shipping. Condition: Used.
