Italy Deruta Orvieto Majolica Galletto Verde Green Rooster 15” Round Platter or Wall Plate Complete your collection with this rare, large, and impressive vintage Italian ceramic ROUND PLATTER / WALL PLATE / TRAY / CHARGER signed "P.V. ITALY 04704R" (with the Artist's mark below), Green Rooster/Gallo Verde pottery.  The Platter is clearly hand painted - the thick paint can be felt through the glaze. It probably dates from the mid to late 1900s; P.V. / Peasant Village.  The 15-1/4 inch round tray features 2 holes in its base that can be used to hang it securely (see photo). The outer rim stands about 1-1/2 inches tall and the platter weighs a whopping 4 lbs. 12 oz.  This platter is in EXCELLENT vintage condition with vibrant colors, signed, and NO visible cracks or chips.  Although the number on the back of the plate is slightly smeared (happened before or during glazing), there are two identical platters on WorthPoint with the exact same design, size, markings, and number. Two small imperfections in the glaze ON THE BACK of the piece. Last two photos show these small spots. They are not noticeable to the eye, but you can feel them if you are searching for ununiform areas in the glaze. Condition: Used.
