The decanter has an applied handle and retains its original elongated cut stopper. The elongated stopper features an eight-sided cut form with faint traces of original gilt decoration at the top. For your consideration.....a late 19th century Bohemian (Austro-Hungarian) decorative glass decanter , hand-blown and hand-decorated, featuring white enamel ornament and gilt decoration. The decanter has an applied handle and retains its original elongated cut stopper. Decoration: The body is decorated in horizontal registers with white enamel “plume” motifs and beaded dotwork, arranged in symmetrical V-shaped patterns. These alternate with areas of textured, granular (“sandpaper”) gold decoration, a period-correct technique commonly seen on Bohemian glass of the late Victorian era. A narrow solid gold band separates decorative zones. The gold decoration shows visible hand application, including natural irregularity to some V-shaped lines, consistent with 19th-century workshop production. Stopper: The elongated stopper features an eight-sided cut form with faint traces of original gilt decoration at the top. Gilding on the stopper is worn, consistent with age and use. The base of the stopper exhibits a semi-opalescent appearance, with light clouding at the contact point where it has rested in the neck over time — a common age-related characteristic in antique glass. Construction: Free-blown glass with a slightly irregular, not perfectly round base, consistent with hand manufacture. The decanter sits flat and stable. Unmarked, as is typical for much late 19th-century Bohemian glass. Condition: Very good antique condition overall. White enamel and textured gold decoration is well preserved.  Stopper gilt is faint and there is light internal clouding at the stopper contact area, typical of age. There is slight irregularity in clean gold lines which is unlike Moser and Josephinenhutte wares.  No cracks or structural damage noted.  There are a few internal bubbles (and a black dot).
