So are the balls.   I don't know what the metal is.  It's nonmagnetic.  It has tarnished since  I acquired it around 5 weeks ago.  Although it has a somewhat modernist design, it's not large or bulky. It is approximately 16 1/2 in or 16.5 cm in length. The teardrop shaped balls are 1.5 cm "long".  The side pieces have a sterling look, but I have not tested them.  The balls look chromated.  None of it is magnetic. The design of the necklace is the focal point. Items are packed within 1 - 3 days after purchase depending on energy level.  Items are taken straight to post office 2 - 4 times a week at this time  of the year.
