No holes, dents, or cracks in the body. Antique Victorian Pewter Teapot — Melon Ribbed Body with Ornate Scroll Feet A handsome antique pewter teapot in the classic Victorian melon-ribbed form. The body features bold vertical fluting that tapers to a bulbous base, resting on four ornate cast scroll feet decorated with shell and palmette cartouches. The hinged domed lid echoes the ribbed body and is topped with a bud finial. A gracefully curved C-scroll handle and elegant swan-neck spout complete the silhouette. Construction & Style The melon-ribbed form with ornate cast feet is characteristic of mid-19th century Sheffield pewter and Britannia metal production. Major Sheffield makers including Philip Ashberry, James Dixon & Sons, and R. Broadhead & Co. all produced teapots in this popular style. The base is stamped "1833" (a pattern number) and "5" (size designation). A faint partial touchmark is present but too worn to attribute to a specific maker.
