This listing is for a beautiful vintage midcentury Formia Murano sommerso glass standing duck figurine or sculpture. This blown glass figurine was most likely made in the 1950s or 1960's on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. It is not labeled but the style is similar to the work of the well-known Murano furnace, Formia which is now known as Fornace Mian. The figurine has an internal core of blue and green glass that was submerged into clear glass and then formed into the shape of a duck. This technique of submerging glass is called "sommerso". The duck's applied beak is made of very light tan glass and the eyes and feet are clear glass. The duck measures approximately 3-1/2 inches from the end of the beak to the end of the tail and 2 inches wide and stands 6-3/4 inches tall. The figurine is in very good used vintage condition with respect to its age and use with no chips, cracks, or repairs Condition: Used.
