The stone’s color and appearance are consistent with Sleeping Beauty turquoise; however, the specific mine origin has not been verified. Beautiful vintage sterling silver turquoise ring featuring a bright, clean blue oval cabochon with little to no visible matrix. The stone’s color and appearance are consistent with Sleeping Beauty turquoise; however, the specific mine origin has not been verified. The turquoise is set in a hand-cut scalloped bezel and surrounded by applied silver raindrops with fine beaded detailing. The ring has a closed-back setting and a split-shank band. The interior is stamped STERLING and bears a pictorial hallmark that appears to depict a tomahawk or hatchet. Similar tomahawk hallmarks have been associated with early Navajo silversmith Little Joe Begay and jewelry produced in connection with trader C. G.
