This example is the No. 607 size, a long-format jointer plane designed for flattening and straightening large boards and edges in cabinetmaking and pattern shop work. The plane incorporates the patented Bed Rock frog adjustment system associated with Edmund A. Schade's March 14, 1911 patent, allowing tighter frog seating and finer blade adjustment compared to earlier Bailey-pattern designs. The elongated sole, heavy cast construction, and precision-machined body reflect the form-follows-function approach that made the Bed Rock line favored among professional woodworkers and industrial shops. Shows moderate surface wear, oxidation, scattered scratching, finish loss, and age-related patina throughout. Japanning exhibits expected wear and thinning from use. Hardwood handles show darkening, scattered abrasions, and handling wear.
