Production of the first carving tools began in 1942. Within a short space of time, the high quality of the tools proved extremely popular, not only among professional carvers, but also among amateurs and carving schools in Switzerland and abroad. When professional woodcarvers are asked, this is the brand they recommend.    This tool is a 3/12 gouge which means its cutting edge is the number 3 sweep on the industry standard of profiles.  Search the internet to find these. The 12 is the width in millimeters of the blade. The current retail price for a new one is $51.     I also do combined shipping and will refund any excess cost paid by the buyer for multiple items purchased and shipped to the same address.
