This unusual brooch is by the company Renoir of California between 1952 and 1964. The company began its existence in 1946 producing mostly all copper costume jewelry. In 1952, the company began adding enamel work to its repertoire in a line called Matisse, focusing on artsy pieces reflecting Mid Century Modern tastes. This piece interprets a piece of bamboo with its leaves in shiny copper and red and white enamel. It is in good vintage condition.
