Vintage Italian Micromosaic Heart Necklace with Dangling Drops – Marked MADE ITALY Beautiful and unusually elaborate vintage Italian micromosaic necklace featuring a large heart-shaped centerpiece, multiple micromosaic stations and two coordinating dangling drops. The focal point is a wonderful heart-shaped micromosaic pendant filled with intricate hand-set glass tesserae. The design incorporates a central blue floral motif surrounded by tiny multicolored flowers and geometric decoration in turquoise blue, yellow, red, white, navy and green. The necklace is further embellished with five small round micromosaic stations, each containing a tiny star/flower design, plus two dimensional teardrop-shaped micromosaic dangles suspended on either side of the heart. These drops are especially interesting, with raised white and bright yellow mosaic decoration. The warm antique-gold-tone chain and settings complement the colorful Italian glass beautifully. The reverse of the heart is clearly stamped: MADE ITALY A wonderful example of Italian micromosaic jewelry and a much more elaborate design than the commonly encountered single micromosaic pendant.
