Product Information Description Japanese Antique Gold Leaf Byobu 2 Panel Folding Screen Bijinga Meiji Era A two panel Japanese folding screen on gold leaf, painted in the Meiji era with a bijinga, a picture of beautiful women. - Type: two panel byobu folding screen - Technique: colour on gold leaf - Subject: bijinga - Period: Meiji era - Signature: none The source states the painting is more than a hundred years old, that it was remounted and repaired in Kyoto using Nishijin weave and smoked metal fittings, and that four women are shown, three standing and one crouching, each in a kimono of a different colour and pattern painted down to the detail.
