Decorated on the inside of the cup and on the saucer with hand painted pink and yellow roses and blue flowers over a heavy gold background. With hand painted dark and light pink roses over white and crimson red cartouches with gold scrolls and framed in gold beading alternating with hand painted purple flowers over a white cartouches with gold scrolls framed in gold beading. Unmarked. Probably made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain. Circa 1891 to 1921. Has some wear to the gilding, and a small piece of porcelain that adhered to the side of the cup during the firing, but otherwise good condition. The cup measures approximately 5 inches wide including the handle x 2 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide.
