Collected directly at a famous Mexico City Craft Market back in 1985. This delightful yellow skeleton with open arms has tremendous humor and displays the freedom of economy of a child's imagination. From the bare bones twisted wire armature, to the essential paper mache additions, to the bright splashes of primary color......and the polka dotted wood base, this is masterful and delightful. I never found anything like these works in subsequent trips to observe the Day of the Dead. The economy reminds me of some of the Philadelphia Wireman's figures or even the playful expressions of the famous bread & Puppet Circus of Vermont fame. The piece measures 12" tall, 6"wide, and 6" in depth. Our skeleton pairs well with the Iron Devil shown in the last photo and also listed separately. This unique piece of authentic folk art is over 30 years old and in mint condition. It is part of my extensive Day of the Dead Mexican Artifact collection. LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME! Condition: Used.
