Also, on this first brochure, the primary sightless eye logo hadn't been made public yet so it was just the storm warning flag that was used as their official logo. The oldest pieces of Carolina Hurricanes memorabilia you'll find! Guaranteed! Because the team literally hadn't even played their first game yet and had only just been announced as coming from Hartford a month or so earlier. These are right in line with the inception of the team after changing name and locale from the Whalers. Of all of the hundreds and hundreds of pieces of Canes collectibles I've had, these have always been my favorite and the most dear to me. There are so many neat & funny little easter eggs to look out for when looking over the brochures... One is that at the time these were put out, they didn't even have a jersey yet, so on the first one Keith Primeau is shown in a team Canada jersey with a poorly photoshopped "Hurricanes" on his helmet (as are Sean Burke and Steve Chiasson. It also pictures team All-Star Geoff Sanderson, in his Eastern All Star uni, who had a very brief 40 game tenure that inaugural year before being traded. Fans might also get a kick out of seeing 1997 ticket prices and finding that the organization was essentially being run out of a small office at a Morrisville business complex at that time. Steve Chiasson, as I mentioned before, is also pictured - he sadly passed away folllowing the Canes first playoff appearance in 1998. The www.hurricanes_hockey.com url is funny as are the pretty comprehensive lessons on what hockey is for all of the Carolinians who might not have been familiar with the sport at the time.  Condition: Brochures show a little edge wear and having some creasing, but aren't missing any print and still in collectible-worthy shape.
