View Vtg Rosenthal Selb Bavaria Art Nouveau Ceramic Handled Dish Hand Painted Floral with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. The signature is found on the front in on of the flowers. However, the only marks here are the signature of the artist and the 1924 Rosenthal Selb Bavaria mark on the back. This listing is for a preowned vintage Rosenthal Selb Bavaria double handled plate with a hand painted art nouveau pink water lily pattern and gold trim, signed by the artist. The signature is found on the front in on of the flowers. The gilded art nouveau floral style is reminiscent of the skilled artists of the Pickard decorators, who would paint on European blanks, such as this Rosenthal Donatello blank. However, the only marks here are the signature of the artist and the 1924 Rosenthal Selb Bavaria mark on the back. The shape is a small serving tray, cake plate, or double handled dish, with the actual plate measuring about 7.5" wide and about 8.5" wide across the handles. There is some general wear on the decoration throughout, but it also appears someone covered up a chip on the rim with some added gold, which helps to camouflage the damage visually, but is a repair none the less (as shown).
