Crafted with fine hand sewn white seed beads on a satin base. This is a vintage French classic white with light blue beaded rim evening bag, dating from the 1940-50s. This bag was made in France for the department store Rich’s, which was founded in the late 1800’s. It features a gathered or ruched design with dense, hand-sewn micro-beads. The metal frame is gold tone and a distinctive light blue beaded floral or "rosette" clasp. Crafted with fine hand sewn white seed beads on a satin base. The top rim of the bag is adorned with light, baby blue hand stitched seed beads. Also, the clasp has a light baby blue rosette clasp,closure. The interior is hand stitched to the frame, and is made of satin. There is an interior pocket. The bag has a gold tone, dense herringbone chain. These bags were highly popular as "cocktail" or formal accessories during the mid-20th century. Measurements: 8.5” at its widest point 6” from top beaded frame 5” handle/Strap drop. It does fit the largest/larger iPhone. But, I wouldn't say you can just drop it in, you need to position it in the bag for it close properly. Excellent vintage condition. All the beading is intact. The frame is straight and the hinges and clasp work properly. The chain handle is intact. The interior is all intact, hand stitching is unplaced without loose threads. There are not any holes. NOTE: There are mild stains to the exterior. Mild wear to the gold tone rim. There is an area of ink stains to the satin lining. And the interior pocket shows soiled area on the rim from use.
