Vintage Modernist Sterling Silver Eilat Stone Israel 925 Size 6-1/4 Adjustable Vintage Modernist Sterling Silver Eilat Stone Israel 925 Size 6-1/4 Adjustable Click images to enlarge Description According to my research, since this ring is signed Israel, the stone is most likely an Eilat Stone, the national stone. The Eilat Stone, also known as the King Solomon Stone, is a combination of several copper-bearing minerals that give it its distinct variegated appearance. It is composed of a natural mixture of malachite (green), chrysocolla (blue-green), azurite (blue), and turquoise. It was exclusively mined in the Timna Valley near Eilat, the site of King Solomon's ancient copper mines. The open-frame design is a classic modernist style frequently produced by Israeli artisans between the 1950s and 1980s. Size: 6-1/4 as shown Weight: 2.7 grams Condition: Good, seldom worn.
