Both paintings measure 12" x 10" while the frames measure 18" x 15 3/4". Husband portrait: The medium is oil on canvas. Some previous repair work and inpainting is evident, particularly in the area of the jacket. The canvas shows some buckling, creating a slightly wavy appearance. Mild craquelure.  Wife portrait: The medium is oil on canvas laid to board. Overall in good condition. There's a small area of inpainting to the far right of her face. There's also a little bit of wear near the edges where the painting meets the frame. A gloss varnish was applied to both paintings at some point.
