View Antique 19th c French Impressionist Oil Painting by Henri St Meuris 1860-1900 #1 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This is one of a set I have had in my collection for a number of years. This is a fantastic piece. There are old patches on the verso and a couple spots of inpainting. The steeple has the largest inpaint at about 2 cm. For your consideration is a lovely and lively 19th c French School Impressionist Genre Scene by artist Henri St Meuris (1860-1900). This piece is signed "St Meuris" Lower right and the frame retains the original St Meuris plaque. This is one of a set I have had in my collection for a number of years. The work exhibited here in this piece is really quite fantastic and represents the very best of the artist. There are old patches on the verso and a couple spots of inpainting. The steeple has the largest inpaint at about 2 cm. Dirty. Cleaning would make the scene appear more vibrant and the colors pop. The original frame is marvelous. The frame has some chips and misses in the gesso mostly on the outer periphery below the gallery and along the back edge. The frame is quite heavy as this was some serious gesso work on the frame.  This is a fantastic piece.
