I'm not positive but, almost certain this was at least intended to be a GI's sweetheart photo. It's more than just an attempt to mimic the sexy pin-up style poses of the 1930s and 40s; it's this cute fringe risqué picture that shows modesty in making sure her belly button is covered (public midriff reveal was still considered taboo). Also, she is wearing a strapless bandeau top which reveals bare shoulders - this was a new thing that made some older generations grumbly, but the youth were slowly pushing this to be acceptable. So, it's a fun photo because she wants to remain a modest American lady by adhering to social norms but also showing her youthfulness in pushing some boundaries too. Her showing that little of her belly just under her arm was a little special "treat" for her man. Approx. 3.5" x 2.5" with a gloss finish - This is an original photo from the era and not a modern reprint from a negative or photocopier. I don't know the name of the young lady in the photo or location. Good condition - the surface finish (emulsion) has micro cracks indicating the photo was frequently bent but this isn't widespread and you won't easily notice these when it lies flat.
