The green backstamp features the "M in a wreath" logo used by the Morimura Brothers, which later became Noritake. • Dating the Mark: The "Hand Painted Nippon" green wreath mark was used on porcelain exported from Japan to the United States and Western markets roughly between 1891 and 1921. • The "Nippon" Name: "Nippon" is the Japanese word for Japan.
