No. 11 wooden Dusenberry log-scaling rule, marked “Made in U.S.A.”. Based on its construction and Lufkin markings, the rule is believed to date from the early-to-mid 20th century. Authentic Lufkin Rule Co. No. 11 wooden Dusenberry log-scaling rule, marked “Made in U.S.A.” This complete three-blade pivoting rule was designed for the forestry, logging and lumber industries. It uses the historic Dusenberry scaling system to estimate the board-foot lumber yield obtainable from logs of different diameters and lengths. The “Dusenberry Rule” name refers to a log-scaling system originating in the 19th century; it does not mean this particular instrument was manufactured during that period. Based on its construction and Lufkin markings, the rule is believed to date from the early-to-mid 20th century. Exact production date is unknown.
