All reasonable offers are considered   MIRIAM HASKELL~HESS 50'S GILT BRASS DANGLE EARRINGS & NECKLACE LAPIS LAZULI BEAD (SIGNED & HALLMARKED) For your kind consideration, am absolutely beautiful classic 1950's vintage Miriam Haskell necklace  and matching earrings from the Golden Era.   It is antique/vintage, approximately 75 years old.    The design of the necklace is a delicate gold gilt brass hook & loop chain link princess length necklace with dangles of gilt brass cable chain, gold gilt brass elongated corrugated decorative links and 8mm round art glass lapis lazuli beads.  At the end of each dangle are three small bell shaped lapis lazuli art glass bell shaped beads.  The larger lapis lazuli beads are accentuated by "urchin egg" brass bead caps. The necklace fastens with a gold gilt brass  spring latch to a jump loop.   There is an embossed oval hang tag attached which is signed "MIRIAM HASKELL".  This particular type of hang tags were first used in the 1940's up until mid 70's when the flat back hang tags with only one signed side were introduced. The earrings are small dangles.  They are made of gold gilt brass.  They dangles are beads similar to those of the necklace.  The head of each earring is a tiny floret of raw brass diamond cut beas and a single filigree brass bead.  They are signed "MIRIAM HASKELL" on the under side of the head of each earring.  They fasten with lever back screw on backs.   The screws can be adjusted for comfortable fit, and to prevent the earring from being lost.   The head of the screw has a patent no. embossed on the surface, and the back of the lever is signed "HASKELL".    This original design is extraordinarily beautiful and hard to find.   I have not seen any similar to this being offered lately on this website.  RARE FIND!  Based on the construction this can be verified as 1950’s Miriam Haskell necklace and earrings.    The head designer during this time was the talented Mr. Frank Hess.  DIMENSION/WEIGHT:    Measurements and weights are approximate. Necklace ~ 16”L end to end with the length of dangles are graduated and drape 2”L – 3”L in front of the necklace.  This necklace is a festoon collar and is not adjustable.  The necklace lays comfortably around the base of neckline and the bead dangles rest on the chest/bust area in front.  The piece weighs just under 72 grams.  Earrings ~ 2½”L.  Each earring weighs 5 grams. Condition:    It is a family heirloom and was inherited.    Overall brass tarnished with a Russian Gold Hue, and is consistent with the nature of gold gilt brass.  The lapis lazuli beads are all in good condition. There are no damaged to the art glass beads.   Some of the bead caps and the corrugated brass beads  are discolored, but it is not unsightly or obtrusive. I check each link, and I have not noticed any gaps or spaces in the links and there doesn’t seem to be any missing beads.   It has not been cleaned since removing it from storage.   NOTE:   This set is another of my personal collection of vintage jewelry by Miriam Haskell which was inherited.   It has been in storage for years and may need cleaning.       MOST VINTAGE PIECES ARE FRAGILE DUE TO AGE and should be handled gently and with care .
