MIRIAM HASKELL SIGN 50'S GOLD GILT BRASS EARRINGS: PINK MONTÉE & PÂTÉS DE VERRE BEADS For your consideration, this auction is for a rare and exquisitely beautiful  pair of Haskell vintage dangle clip on earrings.  These were designed and handmade for Miriam Haskell CIRCA in the 1950's.  The earrings are gold gilt brass and art glass beads.  The head of each has a single ovoid jade green pâté de verre bead, approximately 20 x 15 mm.  It is nested in a gold gilt filigree cup which is handwired to the gold gilt filigree base and supported by  molded gold gilt brass vine findings.    Hanging from the head are two dangles.  The small single pink-red pâté de verre bead, approximately 10mm.  The beads hang from a brass chain attached to the head of the earrings. The earrings fasten with small paddle back clips. Both earrings are signed “MIRIAM HASKELL” on the clip backs. It is extremely hard to describe the beautiful design or the expert intricate construction of these gorgeous earrings.  Just to say, this design is hard to find in such well-preserved condition. Again, look at the pictures The beads and brass accents used in construction of each piece of jewelry are of the best quality and contribute to its smooth finish, exquisite beauty and account for the longevity and well preserved condition of the jewelry.    Most findings used in Haskell creations during this period were imported from Europe and/or Japan.    The pieces in the set will appreciate in value over the years if gently worn and carefully stored.   DIMENSIONS :   All measurements/weights are approximate.  Earrings ~   2“L from top of head to end of dangle. The head is ½"in diameter x ½” thick.  The earrings are fairly heavy and each earring weighs 12 grams. CONDITION: Please note this is pre-owned 1950's vintage jewelry.  It belonged to a family member.  The earrings look to have been gently worn, and are all in well preserved condition.   They have been in storage in a dust free temperature controlled climate since I inherited them.    I have closely examined the earrings.    There are no loose wires, no cracked, chipped, damaged beads or missing pearls or other parts.   The earrings are relatively clean with some tarnish and small amounts of patina which is age related and normal for brass.  It is, however, not unsightly or distracting. The clip backs of both fit snug. NOTE: Please see pictures where I have shown very slight flaw where one tiny pearl has shifted behind the gold gilt brass metal vine.  I believe this is age related.  It hardly shows, unless closely examined.  Aside from this flaw, I cannot find any major flaws on any of earrings, however ,  again, please take a look at the pictures as I may have missed something and ask questions if you have a query.    You will be pleased with purchase even more when you see how well preserved and lovely the design and color is.  MOST VINTAGE PIECES ARE FRAGILE DUE TO AGE .    The pieces are delicate and should not be dropped or thrown in with other pieces in a jewelry box.  To be preserved,  they should be gently worn and handled with care and stored carefully.   These are part of my personal collection of vintage costume jewelry by Miriam Haskell. The set has been in storage since acquired.  Most of my Haskell pieces have been gently worn, a few are unworn.
