Here is an adventure in a box, the experience of an authentic DINOSAUR fossil dig! These kits will be are loaded with fossil dirt directly from a real dinosaur digsite (Specifically the stegosaurus site where the plate pieces I offer where found) in the Jurassic Aged Morrison Formation of Wyoming, but also contains sediments of the overlying Inyan Kara Group and the underlying Sundance Formation as well. So the matrix is typically green but also can be a yellowish dirt as well. Now from anywhere you can dig your own Dinosaurs from the comfort of your own home! No need to worry about laws, private land access, an expensive trip, or harsh weather conditions, now the expedition dig-site comes to you. Each box is loaded with matrix containing numerous bits of Dinosaur parts from Dinosaur species such as Sauropodalike Camarasaurus, Barosaurus, and other Dinosaurs like Camptosaurus, Allosaurus, and of course Stegosaurus. Also there are numerous Coprolites and Gastroliths, and Petrified woods. The Sundance sediments possibly have mollusks like Exogyra, and Belemites, and possibly some echinoderms, and rarely fish and Ichthyosaur bones. The Inyan Kara Group has abundant petrified wood, sometimes even pinecones. Since I have not offered these kits in the past I did one for myself to experiment and in one box I found a couple stegosaurus plate pieces which I offer on my store, petrified wood, coprolite, and bone pieces. I wouldn't hold my breath as far as finding dinosaur teeth as they are considerably rarer in these deposits compared to the cretaceous kits I typically offer but of course it is still possible given the random nature. This concentrate will take time to completly sort/screen/organize/prepare/identify all the fossils out of! The diggers now claim to have noticed "egg shells shards" in these also and while I am skeptical they may be mentioned on the kit paper work. These kits are geared towards a perfect activity for kids and familes who can enjoy a truely unique fun and educational activity! Still can be fun for the seasoned collector. There are dozens of different fossils in each box. Best part is you and your family will be the first humans to discover and touch them! They will be stocked when made available as they are freshly dug up from the site and each box is a good shovel full of material packed into bag, enough to fit into and ship in a usps medium flatrate box. Each box comes with a small screen piece for sifting and a brush/PVA B-15 Beads that even the pros use to prepare and glue bones for the authentic experience! (An easier method if desired is coating them with an elmers glue/water solution once cleaned off and glueing bones back together using super glue). Any harder conglomerate/formation chucks within are recommended to be disolved with water or approached with fine tools like dental tools. Watch out and keep tab of every single bit of bone as many of the small pieces/broken bones within usually have a good chance of being associated (meaning from the same bone/animal) and can be prepared back together like a puzzle to an extent. I would even keep the leftover dirt to fill any gap repairs if needed or to be used for cool unique insitu-like display ideas for fossils. IMPORTANT: These kits are filled with fresh material from a recent dig. Each kit is different so while there is always plenty of interesting fossils the types of fossils included cannot be guaranteed as some will have more bone and others more teeth, it is random in nature just like a real fossil dig.
