Beautiful vintage Japanese Satsuma-style porcelain vase featuring detailed hand-painted figures in traditional dress, raised moriage-style decoration, and rich gold accents. The vase has a deep burgundy ground with vibrant red, blue, green, cream, and gold decoration. The figural scene wraps around the front and sides, while the reverse features a simpler scenic design with blue and cream bands and gold details. The underside is marked “MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN,” dating the piece to the post-WWII Occupied Japan period, generally 1945–1952. Approximate height: 7 inches. Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear. There is visible wear/loss to some of the gold and painted decoration, particularly around the figures, rim, and raised details.
