The pin hinge is tight and closes securely. Welcome to  Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a beautiful large antique Shell Cameo brooch fitted in a Sterling Silver mounting, c. 1880-1900. This excellent quality cameo features a beautiful classic carving of the Green goddess Thyrsus, Goddess of the Wine Harvest. The cameo is carved with intricate details with a grapevine and grape clusters intertwined in her hair. The cameo mounting is unmarked Sterling Silver (tested) and is surrounded with a decorative filigree design and beaded edge. There is also an attachment at the top for wearing as a pendant.  The cameo is in excellent condition with no noted damage or repairs. The pin hinge is tight and closes securely. Cameo measures 2 1/8" long and 1 1/8" wide.
