The drop has the appearance of brown banded agate but I believe it is a much lighter weight Lucite or similar plastic material designed to imitate the natural stone. Much of this jewelry is mid-Century (fabricated circa 1940’s through 1960’s). WELCOME! For your consideration, here is a stunning pair of vintage earrings with an unusual design that combines bright, shiny gold tone sequins topped with seed beads in a cluster design on a filigree background at the top with an earthy, natural looking drop. The drop has the appearance of brown banded agate but I believe it is a much lighter weight Lucite or similar plastic material designed to imitate the natural stone. The earrings are post-style for pierced ears. Because of the   design of the earrings, it would be very easy to detach the faux agate drops and to add the drops of your choosing – perhaps something more sparkly and festive. The earrings measure just over 2 inches tall; the gold tone top portion measures about 3/4 inch in diameter.
