It is beautifully cast in an ornate, scrolling pattern. Hinge is in good working condition, but is a tad loose. Antique/Vintage Metal 3-Footed Hinged  Trinket Jewelry Box Dresser  most likely from Germany/Czechoslovakia "Johannisbad" is engraved in the cartouche on the top of the box. This is the name of a spa resort town in Czechoslovakia as well as the name of famous baths in Germany. (In the last photo, I shone a light on the cartouche to better see the engraving.) Measures around 2.5" in diameter and stands 2.25" high. This is a hand-made box made from embossed cast metal. It is beautifully cast in an ornate, scrolling pattern that looks rather Victorian. The dark patina is quite nice. Hinge is in good working condition, but is a tad loose. Some of the work (hinge, box opening pull, inside) is a bit "crude" but I think  this adds to the unique hand work of this piece. There are a couple of small areas with dings on the inner rims of the top and bottom pieces. I don't know if this is from the original manufacturing process, or happened later, but they do not detract from the beauty of the box. A very rare and special piece of history! Condition: Used.
