This artwork is a popular image from the golden age of advertising posters. It is in the public domain and has been reproduced countless times in every conceivable format. The original posters from late 1800s are rare, expensive, not on very good paper, most likely have been folded, and in generally poor condition. This print for sale is a fine art lithographic  recreation  of the original French advertising poster created by Pal. Just like the original poster it is  hand-drawn  and printed using the same techniques of  traditional lithography  that were used to produce the original posters at ateliers in France. There was no photography or computer assistance used in the creation of this artwork.  Unlike the originals, it is printed on heavyweight acid-free  archival paper . There is the text “A Recreation by Wannabe Affiche, LTD, New York City” added to the image so that it cannot be confused with the original. The artwork is “plate signed” with the artist’s reproduced signature. Size: 52" x 38" This print is from the printer’s private collection. It has never been framed, matted, or displayed.  Shipping via USPS includes heavy-duty secure packaging and insurance. Jean de Paleologu  ( 1855 - 1942)  was a Romanian poster artist, painter, and illustrator, who often used Pal or PAL as his signature or logo and was active in France and the United States. His work appeared in many periodicals, including Vanity Fair, Strand Magazine, New York Herald Tribune, Plume, Rire, Cocorico, Froufrou, Sans-Gêne, and Vie en Rose. He also painted some portraits of comedians and music-hall performers and created some of the most influential poster advertisements for bicycle manufacturers and cycling events, often featuring beautiful women.
