My best guess at the origin of these crucifix is that they were used by a monastery from making rosaries. This is probably one of a small quantity that was left over. Production styles changed and design styles changed drastically in the early 1900s. We are happy to offer for your consideration a beautiful black inlaid pectoral crosses made in France. This silver metal and wood crucifix is in in mint antique condition. It measures 2 inches including the loop on the top. It is new old stock meaning that it has never been used but it’s quite old. This gothic style was very popular in the late 1800s. It would make a great wearable crucifix or a replacement for a rosary cross it’s well made and heavy, made with all the details of a larger crucifix. Please feel free to ask any questions.
