I'm not sure if it holds a photo or hair or anything at all. Beautiful vintage/antique burgundy carnelian lady cameo pendant necklace. It's set in 10k gold plating or rolled gold? since I'm not an antique jewelry expert. I did test the chain and pendant and both seem to be 10k with the acid test and the high power magnet does not stick to it at all anywhere on the cameo or chain. The Carnelian is beautiful in a burgundy color. The gold plated? finish has some need of cleaning and tlc as shown on the cameo. The back of the locket/photo holder? I can't get open and didn't want to damage the finish of it or bend to force open and will leave that up to you. I'm not sure if it holds a photo or hair or anything at all.
