This is a vintage Japanese silk embroidery picture of Mount Fuji, hand-stitched and framed.  The scene has a 3D effect and is layered multicolored silk.  The was my great grandfathers, and he brought it back from Japan after serving in WW2.  On the back it has hooks for hanging but will need new wire. Very lightly in pencil is his name "Mr. Elmer E. Smith" Above it is another word or name, but I can't make it out.  Measuring 12.5” x 17” framed, 10.25” x 14.5” visible art (some more of the size is behind the frame of course).  It is a beautiful piece representing Japanese culture and craftsmanship.  This unique item is a collectible that showcases the traditional artistry and aesthetics of Japanese culture. With its intricate details and historical significance, this piece would make a valuable addition to any collection focused on Asian art and cultural artifacts. It has remained framed in rattan/bamboo and protected, is in excellent condition, has a small inner red frame.  In the highest left corner is some bright light blue which may indicate some fading over time.  It is likely from the 1950's.  Please ask all questions, no returns  Condition: Used.
