Tim Atmar, 20th century painter, renowned for his barren landscapes, soothing atmospheric scenery, capturing a sense of solitude & massiveness. His works have had many showings in major exhibitions. Tim Atmar, 20th century painter, renowned for his barren landscapes, soothing atmospheric scenery, capturing a sense of solitude & massiveness.  He was  born in Houston & in the 5th grade won a scholarship to Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Once graduating from University of Houston, he achieved success in graphic arts for many years before finally in 1967, he began devoting his attention to painting full time. His works have had many showings in major exhibitions. Here is a very fine example of his  impressionist surrealist landscapes, he is characterized by critics as "impressionist, happy, distinctive", "objective non-objective".  Notice how his paintings invite the viewer to immerse oneself 'into' the image setting a mood. There's a lot more here than at first glance.  It's a dreamlike forest scene which makes you look again deeply, wondering if what you saw was really there.  Magically his work draws you in, but u p close are a hazy deer (staring at you or away?) & faint obscure white trees.  His amazing hiding-techniques with paint  creates a mysterious, surrealist-feeling with only hidden answers. This is  signed at lower-right. Framed in wood, covered with silver metal, ready to be hung and enjoyed. Forgive the poor photography this is much nicer in person. Surrealism in art is seriously coveted today Atmar should only increase in value with time, it's a very cool find! From estate fresh to the market from an incredible home filled with seriously exquisite art pieces. Condition is Used/Pre-Owned in very good antique shape, showing minor worn areas due to normal age wear, could use a cleaning especially the frame, (see pictures as part of description).
