Free eBay listing template designed by dewiso.com .element{background:#871024} Antique  Tibetan Copper/Silver Teapot Ewer with Dragon Head Carvings This is a listing for a beautifully preserved Tibetan-style ewer / teapot, crafted from copper and a gorgeous silver-toned copper–nickel–zinc alloy (commonly known as nickel silver or “German silver”). This piece dates to the mid–late 20th century. These ewers were hand-finished by Nepalese and Tibetan artisans and often sold throughout the Himalayan region and into Chinese and Western markets during the 20th century. Family history indicates that this particular example was purchased overseas and brought to San Francisco by an ancestor. The original lid chain remains intact, as does the copper joinery used to secure decorative elements such as the dragon handle and spout. The dragon handle was cast and then refined by hand, making it one of the most ornate aspects of the piece. Its condition is remarkable given its age. You’ll note minor signs of use and wear, including two shallow dents near the lower base of the ewer/teapot. A soft and attractive patina can be observed in the recesses of the metalwork, highlighting its intricate detailing. This teapot/ewer is deceptively large, measuring approximately 9.5" in height, 8.5" in width (handle to spout), and 5" in body diameter, with a total weight of 1 lb. 10 oz.
