This Chinese Landscape Watercolor Painting is a vintage original piece featuring a beautiful traditional scene which includes mountains, boats on a river, and various buildings, viewed from a distance. Lovely colors such as aqua blue, blue-green, and salmon pink accent this detailed work of art. The painting is signed and has red seal, adding authenticity and value to the artwork. I believe the additional writing on the artwork describes the scene of the painting, masterfully combining what can be seen in the painting with what is written about it. There are even 5 people depicted in the painting (one in the building at left, and four on boats), further adding detail and interest to the scene. The tall mountains add height along with their distinct shadows in the distance. Framed and possibly created on silk (I’m no expert, and I don’t know what rice paper looks like…?… ) this unique piece showcases traditional Chinese artistry. I’m sorry I don’t know what it is painted on. The artwork itself measures: 10” X 12” The artwork seems affixed to a beige base material, and the entire item is framed in a wooden frame that measures 12.5” X 15.5” outside wooden edge to outside wooden edge. A small “bump”of some sort is detected under the glass by one of the boats. (Not too noticeable and can probably be taken out). I believe this item could easily be reframed should you want to display in a “nicer” frame. Missing the hanging hardware but easily replaced if desired. Please let me know if other questions.
