Marked made in USA on bottom; likely by Viscoloid.Reindeer is missing antlers. Just in time for Christmas comes this fabulous celluloid reindeer pulling Santa in his sleigh! Marked made in USA on bottom; likely by Viscoloid. Reindeer is missing antlers. Cica 1920 to 1930 . The heyday of Celluloid toy production in America dated until the mid-1920s when the Viscoloid Company employed 300 full time workers in the toy making department alone. Celluloid lost favor with consumers because of its dangerous flammability and toy production dwindled by the 1930s. This celluloid Santa and reindeer measures 10" long, and 2 3/8" wide. I have not cleaned this item aside from a light dust off. Light soiling, dust, old age toning, dents, paint loss could be present along with other minor wear consistent with age.
