View Vintage Green Rhinestone Eye Prancing Pony Horse Pin Brooch 2.25x1.25" 1968 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. I bought this in 1968 and the reason I know that is I was obsessed with the 1967 Horse of the Year, Damascus. From archives. This vintage Green Rhinestone Eye Prancing Pony Pin Brooch is from 1968 featuring a green rhinestone eye and painted body details. This is a copy of the TRIFARI Precious Pet Series horse pin as this is not enamel, but is painted. ( True TRIFARI will be clearly marked TRIFARI). I bought this in 1968 and the reason I know that is I was obsessed with the 1967 Horse of the Year, Damascus. And at the Malibu Stakes race in 1968 at Santa Anita Race Track they allowed a gray pony named Duffy onto the track. Damascus and Duffy were inseparable and Duffy to this day was the only non-thoroughbred horse allowed to accompany a race horse on the track. I bought this and named it Duffy - but time for Duffy to find a new happy home. From archives:  The stable had requested permission for Duffy, a lead pony and Damascus' constant companion, to accompany the champion to the saddling paddock. There is a California rule against it, but Santa Anita granted Duffy permission to meet Damascus on the walking ring, which made him the first lead pony accorded that honor. I was there at that race when Damascus won. And the only other times he lost was to a gray horse named Most Host. I think Damascus thought it was Duffy and let him lead - hahaha.
