Moriage Dragonware Lithopane Geisha Cup & Saucer Set Japan For consideration is this vintage moriage dragonware lithopane cup and saucer set made in Japan. This set features a brown matte finish background to hand-painted enamel and gilded details. It has a central figure, likely a deity or immortal, surrounded by a dragon. The decoration type is moriage and also features a lithophane geisha image at the bottom of the cup which is visible when help up to light. This style was typically produced between the 1920s and the 1960s. The cup measures 2 inches tall, the mouth measures 3 7/8 inches in diameter and the saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The base of the saucer is marked in red ink “Made In Japan”. The cup has 2 chips with one on the inside rim of the cup and the other on the base of the cup (see photos).
