They have been in my family since they were purchased new and were used on my parents' twin beds before being moved into storage in the early 1970s. Provenance & Care: Ours Since New: These aren't random finds from a flea market; they’ve been with us since day one. The "No Dryer" Rule: Because of the cotton cover, my mom's "No Dryer" rule was essential. Line-drying kept the cotton from shrinking and ensured the inner fill stayed perfectly flat and even for 60 years. "Time Capsule" Condition: They were moved to storage in the early 1970s (when the "butterfly" era began for the twin beds), escaping the heavy wear-and-tear of the decades that followed. Zero Sun Damage: During their years of use, they were always kept under a primary bedspread when the beds were made. They have had virtually no UV exposure in 60 years.
