View STANLEY # 4 PLANE CORRUGATED BOTTOM TYPE 8 ? GOOD USED CONDITION tag 4 with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. The lateral adjuster works just fine. Nice and smooth. The front knob is crack free. But as you can see in the pictures the rear handle is a clean break. But going by the book there is only one patent date on the lateral adjuster and no patent dates behind the frog and it doesn't have the raised rib by the front knob. Up for auction i have a stanley # 4 c plane. The  lateral adjuster works just fine. Nice and smooth. It has the name stanley and the patent date on the iron. The front knob is crack free. But as you can see in the pictures the rear handle is a clean break. The bottom looks good no chips in the throat. There might be some very minor pitting on the back side of the bottom but i think its just sticky stuff. From what i can tell this is a type 8 but i am not a expert on type studies. The reason i am thinking type 8 but don't quote me on that i am not a expert.
