Handmade with a unique foil spinner design, this round ornament features a "Tannenbaum" silver tree with blue atomic stars. Comes in its original Lord & Taylor signed "Dorthy Shavor Rose" gift box! The vintage ornaments red label identifies it as a made in Western Germany original MCM ornament and NOT a 1990 repro! History: Resl Lenz and Lord & Taylor's buying team met at the Frankfurt Trade Fair in Germany during the 1960s and this ornament soon found its way into Lords & Taylor curated high end holiday line. They commissioned the less-common silver foil with blue stars colorway to directly match the high-end, atomic-era MCM aesthetic popular in Manhattan. The ornament traveled from the small Bavarian workshop in Dorfen straight into the curation of Lord & Taylor’s flagship Holiday Shop, where it was wrapped up in that famous “Dorthy Shavor Rose" gift box. Measuring 3.5" in diameter this 1960s German-made ornament is a lovely addition to any Christmas tree, adding a touch of retro style to the festive season.
