Up for sale is a legendary piece of American tool history: an original Yankee No. 2101A 12-Inch Sweep Ratcheting Bit Brace Drill, complete with a vintage wood-boring auger bit. This premium model was originally manufactured under strict heavy-duty contract specifications for the Bell System telephone company. Celebrated by traditional woodworkers and antique tool collectors as the finest, most indestructible brace ever constructed, this tool features an incredibly smooth, enclosed ratcheting mechanism and a steel-clad ball-bearing head.  The metal arm is clearly stamped: "YANKEE No. 2101A-12 IN." Condition Details:  Very good vintage condition. The dark wood handles are solid with a beautiful natural hand patina from decades of workshop use. The ratchet selector mechanism switches easily, the chuck operates smoothly, and the stamp is crisp and clear.
