This large shallow serving bowl features a bold radiating design in vivid turquoise blue, orange, golden yellow, deep navy, black and white. Layered feather-like forms unfold around a richly painted orange center, while the bright orange rim gives the composition a strong, graphic finish. The exterior is equally striking, with a warm orange body and contrasting turquoise-blue foot, allowing the piece to remain beautiful from every angle. Deruta has been celebrated for ceramic artistry since the Middle Ages, long before the height of the Italian Renaissance. For generations, small family workshops have carried this tradition forward, producing distinctive pieces through skilled hand-painting rather than mass production. The Ribigini family, working under the Geribi name, is one of the families continuing that legacy in Deruta. Their individually painted ceramics retain the warmth, character and visible touch of the artisan’s hand. This piece bears the Geribi name on the underside, connecting it directly to the Ribigini family workshop in which it was made. The broad, low form is ideal for serving salads, pasta, vegetables, fruit, bread or appetizers.
