Phoenix (Hō-ō) usual transfers to bird of paradise which represents peace and celestial harmony. This beautiful vintage Japanese textile is a heavy silk woven using the Nishijin-ori (brocade) technique, layered with rich embroidery and metallic thread details. Design Motifs: It prominently features Maru-mon (round floral crests/medallions) containing stylized Kiku (chrysanthemums) and other seasonal flowers. The sweeping red lines connecting the medallions represent tassels and decorative cords (typically associated with ceremonial hanagago flower carts or kusudama auspicious thread balls). Medallion and phoenix bird motif. Phoenix (Hō-ō) usual transfers to bird of paradise which represents peace and celestial harmony. It has golden threads throughout.
