My friend's mom told us to start the charcoal grill. We were still gradeschool age. We poured the charcoal brickets from the bag into the 2 sided Hibachi grill and sprayed them with the proper amount of lighter fluid. Thank you for looking at my Listing. It was midday to early afternoon, in the late 1960s. My friend's mom told us to start the charcoal grill. We were still gradeschool age... We poured the charcoal brickets from the bag into the 2 sided Hibachi grill and sprayed them with the proper amount of lighter fluid. Soon the fire was going and the charcoal starting to char. He then took an open top can, partially filled with wood alcohol, out of the near by shed. I could tell by the look in his eye that I should run...quickly. even 15 feet away I was pushed by the blast as he dove back into the shed. In a matter of 1 second the can had shot in the air like a small rocket and the neighbors wooden fence was consumed in flames behind the grill. We acted quickly to put the fire out and get the Hybachi looking proper again. As we entered his house to bring out the food for grilling we could see his parents were being taken good calm care of by their TUPPERWARE tumblers filled with Fleishman's.
