The edge is reticulated and the back is unmarked, so unsure of maker, but was probably either made in Germany or possibly Japan. It is a satin sheen blue, with a background behind the flowers of a slight blush that fades like was commonly done in the early 1900’s. What a pretty porcelain plate with handpainted with pastel daisies in pink, blue and purple on top of a pale blue background. The edge is reticulated and the back is unmarked, so unsure of maker, but was probably either made in Germany or possibly Japan. The plate is 8 & 1/8 inches in diameter, with a shiny glaze on the back, and painted pale blue on the front. It is a satin sheen blue, with a background behind the flowers of a slight blush that fades like was commonly done in the early 1900’s. The flowers themselves are hand painted, because looking at an angle to the light I can see the faint brush strokes. The pattern may be a combination of hand painting on a transfer, it is hard to tell. There are also two factory drilled holes in the underside rim for hanging the plate easily. This plate is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Looking at an angle to the light, I see no marks in the decoration. The underside unglazed rim where the plate rests when put down is a bit rough in places. A really pretty and unusual plate!
